You’re Invited! Friends and family are invited to the Rock Hall Community Crab Basket Christmas Tree Lighting on Monday, December 12th, 2016 at 7 PM. The tree will be located in the center of Main Street and is constructed with over 200 crab baskets. What makes this tree special and unique is many of the baskets are hand painted and decorated in memory of loved ones. The spirit of “the Pearl of the Chesapeake” is expressed through this magnificent structure and will bring joy and comfort to all.

The Community Crab Basket Christmas Tree was constructed by local resident Ziggy Carter and Town Staff, others that took an active role in making our tree unique and special include the staff from Chester River Seafood and Shore Goose. The crab topper was crafted and designed by Buffalo Strong. Proceeds from the memorial basket sales will benefit the Rock Hall Parks and Recreation Board to implement future programs for children.

The Crab Basket Christmas Tree Lighting Enters It's 4th Year....

This year marks the 5th year of Rock Hall, MD. Crab Basket Tree Lighting, it's gains some new baskets each year to remember those who have passed away and to add decorate some new ones with names of families. With each year there seems like more and more people gather together for the lighting. This year has cancelled parades, holiday parties and events because of Coronavirus Pandemic. We learn to come together and rejoice on what we do have rather than what we don't.
